x-BNK Transponder Receiver System
Description
The x-BNK is a transponder receiver system designed for wind energy installations that enables demand-controlled night marking (BNK) by detecting approaching aircraft transponder signals. It serves as the central component of a comprehensive BNK system developed in cooperation with Deutsche Windtechnik. The system captures signals from approaching air traffic participants, verifies them using robust algorithms, and automatically activates hazard lights when needed. It was type-certified in September 2020 and is specifically mandated for wind turbine operators from July 2021.
