Multi-Ducted Angled Rotors (M-DAR)

Propulsion & Power Systems

Description

M-DAR is a patented VTOL propulsion system consisting of an array of fixed forward-pitched ducted fans. The system reduces drag and increases lift in forward flight by lowering the angle of attack of the airstream. It provides hover flight stability through differential thrust for attitude control and reduces mechanical complexity compared to other VTOL approaches. The technology powers Group 1 & 2 UAVs and has demonstrated VTOL and forward flight capabilities.
